Beginning something new can often be confusing, and exploring the idea of creating your own spiritual path is no exception. To help you get off to the best possible start, this page provides links to a handful of posts which you should consider reading in the order prescribed.
First, start by reading The Parable of the Island. This tells the story of a man who finds himself stranded on a desert island with no memory of who he is, how he got there or why. Once you have read this parable you will understand the predicament that all of us are in when we come to explore questions of a spiritual and/or existential nature.
Next, read What is a Seeker? and What is Spirituality? In these posts I define several important terms which I use quite frequently. The first provides definitions of the Adopter, the Abstainer and the Seeker, and the second offers my definition of spirituality.
Spirituality Matters is the fourth introductory post, and it explains how your spiritual perspective is something that affects every other aspect of your life.
The journey of the Seeker is basically a quest for spiritual truth, but with so many possible answers to the big questions in life, how should the Seeker proceed? The Truth Will Set You Free is my take on that potentially tricky subject.
Last, but by no means least, my final introductory post briefly discusses The Concept of God.
Enjoy the Orientation!
